Sustainability in Dining

We work collaboratively with Pitt Eats to provide Pitt students, faculty, and staff with access to local, zero-waste, low-carbon dining options. We also work to reduce food waste through food recovery and composting efforts.

We are proud that four of our Pitt Eats dining locations have received Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant Designations! Our two main dining halls, The Eatery and The Perch at Sutherland, have renewed their Gold designations while both the Cathedral Cafe and Schenley Cafe have earned Silver designations.

Additionally, six of our Pitt Eats dining locations have been recognized as Live Well Allegheny Restaurants: The Eatery, the Perch at Sutherland, Schenley Cafe, and the Cathedral of Learning, plus Pitt Subs and Shake Smart at Petersen Events Center.
